What a bunch of sickies in 2JS this week. Including me. I think we had every sickness possible keeping people home for 1, 2 or even 5 days. Hopefully the long weekend will let everyone recover. Enjoy yourself and remember to do some independent reading at home!

This week in reading we have been focussing on summarising texts. That means that we put the book into our own words. It sometimes means that a long page is put into one or two short sentences. We do a lot of independent reading at the moment. This means that everyone reads books….. a lot.

We have been learning about money in class. We have learnt to read amounts of money in dollars and cents, and to add them up. Go to MONEY GAME in the Maths Activities to practise adding up coins.

It’s great to see so many children from our grade using Mathletics at home. Some are up to their first Bronze certificate! Well done! We will have time in class this week to do some more.

Our Kidz Bodz show was interesting. We learnt about how eating healthy foods can give our bodies energy. This energy helps us to concentrate in class, and have energy to run and play.
